Alliance Network 19 calls on the Peshmerga Minister to provide necessary information and explanation about the reasons for the arrest of Islam Zebari and prevent the misrepresentation of his case.

Islam Zebari, a military officer in the Peshmerga Ministry, has been transferred to Umrah for a year. He holds two bachelor's degrees in military science, diplomatic and international relations.

On Sunday, April 6th, 2025, when he visited the Akre Passport Directorate, he was told that he had an arrest warrant.

Last night, Ali Hama Salih, the leader of the Halwest Movement, released an audio recording of (Islam Zebari), in which "the issue is political, because they formed a committee of inquiry on the articles I publish on the Internet about corruption and partisanship in the Peshmerga Ministry, I didn't go to the committee and they issued an
arrest warrant for me.”

Halwest National Movement has issued a statement describing the arrest of a senior cadre of the movement (Islam Zebari) as a "political step" and "a party work and a political case" against the movement.

"In the past, Islam Zebari has published dozens of cases on the poor condition of the Peshmerga, corruption in the military and partisanship of the military forces," the statement said.

 The case of Islam Zebari, whose salary and rank were suspended in a short time, was brought before the military court, opening the door to the question whether the Peshmerga Ministry is only the Peshmerga Ministry of the PUK and KDP.

We respect the laws and procedures of the ministry's military discipline, but that question is legitimate and those who have different ideas will have the same fate.
