Diyaree Mohammed, director of Metro Center, said in an interview with Kurdistan 24:
The bloody incident in Sulaimani had a negative impact on the psyche of individuals and created fear and anxiety. It has affected freedom of expression and journalism.
Zoom is not owned by Lahur Sheikh Jangi or the People's Front party, its license is in the name of a prominent journalist.
The director of the channel informed us that they had evacuated the channel before the armed clashes for the safety of their journalists and staff.
After the fighting ended (Lalazar fight), a security force entered the channel inside the Darwaza Residential project and evicted some employees, broke the doors and took some items.
The force then told them to return to the channel. When they returned, they repaired the doors, took their keys and told them to leave.
Since then, neither the channel's manager nor employees have been able to return to their channel and have information that most of the equipment has been taken away.
A security force is deployed there that they do not know who it is. As Metro Center, we contacted the security forces and they told us that the force does not belong to them.
The safety of Zoom journalists is the responsibility of the security forces in Sulaimani.
