The US Consulate General in Erbil held a ceremony to introduce the new US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region (Wendy Green).
I represented Metro Center. At the ceremony, I welcomed the new consul, invited her to Metro, and wished the former consul every success in his future assignment.
Steve Bittner, former US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, delivered a speech, where he talked about his work in the Kurdistan Region and then introduced the new consul general to the audience. Wendy Green spoke about her new mission and her country's policies.
Wendy has served as a diplomat in Addis Ababa, Malta, Dubai, Paramaribo, Amsterdam and Pretoria. In the military, she served as head of interagency operations and plans for eastern Afghanistan.
This Texas-born lady has a Master of Science in National Security Strategy. He speaks Dutch, French, Arabic and some Persian.
