On behalf of Metro Center, I participate in the Democracy Day activities, which will be held on September 14th,15th and 16th in the Khuldi Hall of Al-Rashid Hotel in Baghdad.
In 2007, the UN General Assembly declared September 15 as World Democracy Day to strengthen and uphold the principles of democracy.
Although Article 1 of the Iraqi Constitution states that the Iraqi system of governance is a federal, parliamentary and democratic republic, but in practice there are many problems.
In 2023, Iraq ranked 115th in the world with a score of 0.362 on the Electoral Democracy Index, which is described as a repressive country, but better off in the region.
These three days are an opportunity to take advantage of his activities and meet friends and activists in Iraqi cities, journalists, human rights defenders and decision makers, as well as building a new bridge of communication for the Metro Center, which has been under unjust campaign.
