On Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, in Erbil, at the introduction ceremony of the new British Political Consul in the Kurdistan Region, the team of Metro Center welcomed Harriet Bell and wished her success in her new duties as Political Consul.

On this occasion, we thanked the former British Political Consul Tom Hipps, who during his work in the Kurdistan Region showed interest in strengthening relations with the media and civil society organizations, visited the Metro Center, we wished him success in his future mission.

The event was a good opportunity to meet and discuss with some foreign diplomats in the Kurdistan Region. 

Harriet Bell, the new British political consul, made her first appearance in recent days, when she met with journalists from Rudaw, NRT, Zoom News, Ava and Kurdistan Chronicle. They discussed the development of the region and the importance of media freedom.
