what should we do?

Winthrop Rodgers is a freelance journalist and commentator, focusing on politics, human rights and political economy. He currently serves as a Chatham House Associate Fellow.
Win pays attention to Metro Center reports and has published several analytical articles on our reports in foreign media.

During his visit to Metro, he asked several questions about the new situation in the region related to civil space and freedom of the press, opportunities and obstacles facing the work of journalists, and constantly asked the question: What should we do?

The right answer is always for the Kurdistan Region to review its human rights issues in a way that does not conflict with domestic law and international principles on the protection of human rights, and respects the rule of law.

Win will present a panel later this month at Chatham House, one of the world's leading research centers, founded in 1920, and Metro Center is also invited.

Win's panel focuses on freedom of expression and the work of civil society organizations in the Kurdistan Region, relying in part on Metro's reports on the situation of press freedom, which since 2011 has published 14 reports.

We were pleased to hear his comments on governance in the Kurdistan Region and his worldview on the situation in the region and its consequences.

Metro’s team thanked independent journalist Winthrop Rodgers for his attention to freedom of expression, journalism, activities, news and positions of Metro and the obstacles and opportunities facing freedom of association.
