Sulaymaniyah - November 6th, 2025, the Human Rights Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), in collaboration with Metro Center for Journalists Rights and Advocacy, organized a one-day training "Promoting freedom of expression and the protection of journalists and media workers in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.” Twenty-six

participants (12 female, 14 male), representing media organizations, journalists and NGOs, benefited from the training. Participants gained knowledge of national and international legal framework for the protection of freedom of expression, with the aim of enhancing their capacity to undertake their professional responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution of Iraq and international standards of freedom of expression and the protection of journalists.
