On February 3rd, 2026, I participated in the program (Rozhi Hiwa Jamal). We discussed and analyzed the statistics of January 2026 demonstrations documented and published by Alliance Network 19.
The report provides statistics on all protest activities in the Kurdistan Region. Unlike last year, a large share of demonstrations was in support of West Kurdistan.
No amount of violent behavior, partisan speech, harassment, threats and hate speech was recorded by our observers and the security forces did their job well to protect the demonstrators.
