On July 18th and 19th, in Erbil, within the framework of the Qarib Project and with the support of the French organization CFI, Metro Center organized a two-day journalism training titled, "Professional Coverage During Conflict”. The training was conducted by both Mr. Saman Fawzi and Salam Omar.

The topics of the first day of the training included several practical activities conducted by Salam Omar. Including, composing different scenarios about professional decision making in the newsroom, office coverage, field coverage, and the art of professional interviewing.

Also, on the second day of the training, Dr. Saman Fawzi highlighted several important issues related to the current situation in the region and the media. Such as, media freedom and citizens' right to access information and news in normal and extraordinary times, public interest and national security, protection of dignity and privacy of people in times of conflict, international standards on how the media behaves in times of conflict, and many other important issues.

Finally, all the topics were applied in practice by the participants and they were awarded certificates of participation.
