On August 23rd, 2026, in Erbil, the final conference of the project on democracy and transparency, strengthening civil participation and freedom of the press with the support of the European Union has begun. implemented by the July Organization, Shams Network, Ain Network, Norwegian NPA.

At the beginning of the conference, representatives of the three Iraqi presidencies, the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Iraqi Election Commission and the European Union were present.

After the opening ceremony, a roundtable will be held to discuss the elections in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

The project published several reports: Violence in the Iraqi Elections prepared by Dr. Mahdi Jaber, Hate Speech in the Iraqi Parliamentary Elections prepared by Dr. Wael Munzir Bayati, Violence against Women in the Iraqi Elections 2025.
