On 2 November 2026, on the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, Metro Center and the College of Law and Political Science at the University of Human Development organized a panel discussion in Sulaymaniyah, at the Dr. Ali Qaradaghi Hall.

The panel, entitled "The Reality of Press Freedom in the Kurdistan Region in Light of Applicable Laws,” featured Dr. Saman Fawzi and Diyaree Muhammad, Director of Metro Center.

During the discussion, both panelists addressed the issue of impunity and some of the most prominent challenges facing journalists, including obstacles and restrictions that hinder their work.

The panel was attended by journalists, university lecturers, and students from the College of Law and Political Science.
