Network 19 condemns the arrest of social networking activist Dilshad Zebari and calls for his release.

On Monday, July 1st, 2025, Dilshad Zebari was arrested in the bazaar of Akre district of Duhok province.

Idris Mohammed, a friend of the detainee, wrote on Facebook: "Security forces in Akre put my friend Dilshad Zebari in prison. He is a brave man, a prominent critic and a civil activist in Akre... I hope he will not be tortured and released as soon as possible.”

Dilshad Zebari posts critical posts on social networks, his last post was a satirical criticism of salary delay.

According to the information provided by the network, the families of the detainee contacted the Akre security forces and were told that he was safe and with them.
