Metro Center condemns the treatment of demonstrators and journalists of Paytakht Media and Ava Media by the security forces of Barde Qareman township and calls for immediate investigation of the perpetrators, they shall not escape punishment.

On October 23rd, 2025, while covering a protest rally of residents of Gopala village of Bazian district due to their drinking water getting mixed with sewage, two media teams consisting of (Peshkawt Khalil Hussein, reporter of Paytakht Media), (Zhiwar Abdulrahman, reporter of Ava Media, Mohammed Saeed Ahmad, cameraman of Ava Media, Rasti Fazil, driver of Ava Media) were attacked by Barde Qareman security forces. Ava Media cameraman Mohammed Saeed Ahmad was injured in the attack.

According to the two teams, the force not only was attacking their teams, but also confronted and harassed the gathered residents.

After the attack on the two media teams, their mobile phones and journalistic equipment were confiscated and they were told to go back to the Bayjan security station to collect them. After going to collect their belongings, the employees of both teams get detained for an hour and prevented from going outside or using mobile phones, and are sat there against their will with someone monitoring them.
