Alliance Network 19 expresses its deep concern over the cyber-attack and insults against the well-known religious teacher (Mullah Hama Yousef Saeed Abdullah Kochar).

During the publication of his memoirs, this teacher mentioned some of the negative aspects of the formation of the Kurdistan Liberation Army; An armed force belonging to the Naqshbandi sect that was established in Hawramabad during the 1979 Iranian Revolution against the Iranian regime and was supported by the Iraqi regime.

Recounting such information in the context of discussing personal experiences or historical assessments is a fundamental right of every public figure guaranteed by domestic law and international human rights treaties.

Although teacher Hama Yousef has publicly apologized for any misinformation in his speech, he has been subjected to an organized campaign by a group of religious teachers and people who identify themselves as disciples of the Naqshbandi sheikhs for two days.

This is a dangerous act that jeopardizes social peace, the spirit of tolerance and dialogue and is a form of personal terrorism.

This campaign opens the door to an environment of fear that restricts freedom of expression and prevents religious and social figures from recording their experiences. In this regard, we at the Alliance Network 19 emphasize the following points:

1. We strongly reject all forms of cyber violence, defamation and insult.

2. We call on everyone to respect the right to difference, avoid incitement language and adhere to general ethics of dialogue.

3- We praise the positive role of Hama Yousef and his services to society, especially in the field of spreading love of life, interpreting the poetry of classical poets and paying attention to the original Kurdish culture in addition to his religious duty. We also call for an end to all campaigns of incitement and opposition to him.

Finally, we emphasize that calm and respectful dialogue is the only way to maintain social order and prevent inappropriate forms of pressure and insult.
