Alliance Network 19 condemns all forms of violence and calls on the security agencies of Erbil province to conduct a serious investigation into the killing of a civilian in front of Lanaz Company and protect the right of citizens to organize demonstrations and rallies.

This afternoon, November 29th, 2025, during the demonstration of some citizens of Lajan village of Erbil province, one person was killed and several others injured in a clash in front of a company seeking employment. On top of that, some media outlets were prevented from covering the incident and their journalistic equipments were broken.

Shaima Ahmad, a reporter for Channel 8, told Network 19 that she was attacked by several people in military uniforms while covering the incident. She said that they also broke some of their journalistic equipments.

Network 19 condemns the killing of civilians and calls on the security agencies of Erbil province to seriously investigate the killings and injuries.

The right of citizens to hold demonstrations and rallies must be protected, and journalists must be able to cover events freely.
