On September 23, 2026, Kurdistan24 offered a new service to its viewers and decided to add sign language to its 6 pm news read.

We praise Kurdistan 24 for deciding to provide a special service to a group of people with disabilities in order for them to be able to access news and information without discrimination, because it is a fundamental human and legal right guaranteed by international agreements.

Kurdistan24's service is commendable.

We hope that other media outlets in the Kurdistan Region will uphold this right for this segment of society, so that, like other groups and segments of Kurdish society, they can stay informed about events and are not deprived of their right to know.

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights emphasizes that everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression.
